After nearly eight months on hold, grand jury proceedings resume in Franklin County: grand jury panels are convening at the old Carnesville Elementary School building. Most court work had been suspended since March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
From the Facebook page of District Attorney Parks White…
"After months of compelled lockdown, today we oriented the fall term of the Franklin County Grand Jury at an alternate location: the former Carnesville Primary School building. Chief Judge Malcom accommodated us so well, structuring the arrival of the participants in a way that minimized the exposure or threat of Covid-19, with those summoned arriving in groups of 12, until we identified suspicion number of Grand Jurors.
We will continue the business of the Superior Court during the rest of this week, presenting hundreds of indictable offenses to the newly selected members of the grand jury."
