Marine veteran and Hall County businessman Derrick McCollum says he is a candidate for the Georgia House: Republican McCollum will run for the seat being vacated by Gwinnett County state Rep Timothy Barr, who says he is a candidate for Congress.
Barr is running to fill the seat that will be vacated when 10th District Republican Jody Hice leaves the US House to wage a primary challenge to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
