A 25 year-old Gainesville man is arrested on domestic violence charges: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says Jorge Gomez (pictured above) is accused of assaulting a 13 year-old girl; he also allegedly hit his father. The Sheriff’s Office says Gomez, after being arrested and handcuffed, pushed his way past deputies, who arrested him after a brief foot chase. He’s in the Hall County jail on charges that include battery and obstruction.
The fire burned a chicken house in Fannin County one week ago today: now investigators say the blaze that killed more than eight thousand chickens in McCaysville was a case of arson. The State Fire Marshal's Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
The FBI is searching for two men involved in a large methamphetamine ring that operated in East Georgia as well as North Carolina and Florida. The suspects are as 22 year-old Javier Eras of Atlanta and 52 year-old Tim Barnes of Jasper. They've already arrested six people in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, Cherokee, and Pickens counties.
