Gainesville’s Watson helps first responders

Georgia-born NFL star Deshaun Watson is doing his part to help first responders in his hometown during the coronavirus pandemic.

Watson delivered lunch from a local cafe to the Gainesville Police Department Tuesday.

Watson grew up in Gainesville and is quarterback of the Houston Texans.

"Special thanks to @deshaunwatson for providing lunch for first responders today. We 💙 #DW4 and Longstreet!" police wrote on their Facebook page.

Gainesville Police posted photos of Watson under a sign at Longstreet Cafe proclaiming him a hometown hero. The buffet of food was set up under his framed, signed Houston Texans jersey.

During Watson’s time playing football at Gainesville High School, he set numerous state records.
