ATLANTA — Georgians are living longer! Life expectancy in the state increased by more than one and a half years, according to a new CDC report released Thursday.

It’s now at almost 76 years old. Women tend to live longer than men.

Overall, life expectancy in the United States is up with most people living to almost 78 years old.

Georgia still ranked near the bottom of states, though.

Hawaii ranked first at 80. West Virginia was last at just over 72 years old.
