Georgians can use digital driver’s license as valid form of identification

ATLANTA — Starting Monday, you can use a digital driver’s license as a valid form of identification in Georgia when buying items restricted by age, such as alcohol or tobacco.

The Georgia Department of Driver Services says the use of digital or mobile driver’s licenses are now in a pilot phase at select sites within State Farm Arena and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The acceptance of the ID is at the retailers’ discretion.
