Athens-Clarke County Commissioner Jesse Houle, representing District 6 since 2020, says there will be no run for reelection in 2024. Houle won the seat after the death of former Commissioner Jerry NeSmith.

The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections met Monday, certifying the results of elections that wrapped up one week ago today in Athens and Winterville. The Board meets again today: its regularly scheduled monthly meeting is set for 4:30 this afternoon in the Government Building on Dougherty Street.
