There is more bicycle talk on tap for today in Athens, a 4 o’clock meeting of the Athens in Motion Commission, the panel appointed to work to enhance bicycle and pedestrian traffic in Athens-Clarke County.
Jackson County Commissioners have signed off a newly-reconfigured Jackson County Commission district map, working with the results of last year’s census. The new district lines will now have to win state approval.
Barrow County Commissioners meet this evening: it is a 6 o’clock session at the Historic Courthouse in Winder.
There is a property dispute between Barrow County and the City of Winder, with the County saying the City did not provide the proper legal notice for plans to annex acreage off East Wright Street in unincorporated Barrow County. The move would allow a developer to build houses.
Pat Elrod took her oath of offices as Bowman’s newest City Council member at last night’s Council meeting in Bowman: Elrod won a special election earlier this month. She fills the unexpired term of former Councilman Chris Johnson.
