GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A second man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a man during a gun sale that prosecutors say was part of a planned robbery.
Jermaine Rimson was found guilty in the death of Abel Castellanos, who posted a .380 handgun for sale on social media four years ago.
The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office says Miguel Flores responded to the post and arranged to meet Castellanos at his Suwanee apartment to buy the gun. Prosecutors say Flores instead intended to rob Castellanos at gunpoint.
Rimson, who was with Flores, was accused of shooting Castellanos in the chest and killing him. Prosecutors say two guns were taken from Castellanos, including the handgun he had advertised for sale.
Flores has also been found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
A third suspect, accused of being the getaway driver, is awaiting trial.
