The Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens gets $12,000 from the Foundation of the Jefferson-based Jackson EMC: the Nature Center says the money will go for construction of a new outdoor play area for children.
The donation is part of the latest grant package from Jackson EMC, with more than $100,000 going to organizations across northeast Georgia.
