Two suspected drug dealers have been arrested and booked into the Elbert County jail. Jamarcus Hester is 38 years old, from Royston; Tawasa Burton is from Elberton. The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says Hester is also facing a DUI charge.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate has been found dead in her cell in the jail in Gainesville. Judy Taylor was 58 years old, from Florida. There was no immediate word on the cause of death. The GBI is investigating.
A 77 year-old woman from Habersham County is killed in a crash; a 19 year-old man from White County will face charges. The Georgia State Patrol says Rylee Higgins of Cleveland was driving the truck that crossed a center line on Old Cannon Road in Demorest, hitting a car driven by Sandra Mulkey. She was killed; he was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. The State Patrol investigation is ongoing.
