Heroin suspect arrested in Hall Co

Arvil Hammonds III has been denied bond and remains behind bars, facing charges stemming from the death of Georgia Department of Natural Resources Captain Stan Elrod: Hammonds was driving the vehicle that struck the 49 year-old Elrod one week ago tonight, killing him while he was jogging in Madison County.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office says a Royston man has been arrested on rape charges: 36 year-old Timothy Allen is the Hart County jail, being held on a $600,00 bond.

Charges for a Hall County man include theft and exploitation of an elderly person: Jessy Williams is 26 years old, from Gainesville. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says he stole a vehicle and a wallet from a 77 year-old man he’d been living with.

A Gwinnett County man is arrested with what drug agents say was $12,000 worth of heroin: Whitney Johnson is 31 years old, from Sugar Hill. He was arrested in Hall County, also caught with marijuana.

There is an ongoing search for a theft suspect in Gwinnett County: Gwinnett Police are looking for a man who stole nearly $5,000 worth of high-end sunglasses from a store at Sugar Loaf Mills in Lawrenceville.
