The Clarke County School District announces a change in the date for the season opening football game between the Clarke Central High School Gladiators and the Cedar Shoals Jaguars. The annual rivalry, originally scheduled for Thursday August 17, has been moved to Saturday August 19, with kickoff set for 5:30 at Waters-Wilkins Stadium at Cedar Shoals High School.

The Clarke County School District today announced the date of the season-opening football game between Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals high schools has been changed to Saturday, Aug. 19. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 17, but both schools have agreed to move the date back two days. Kickoff will now be 5:30 p.m. at Waters-Wilkins Stadium on the Cedar Shoals campus.
This will be the 57th meeting in the series between the Gladiators and Jaguars. General admission will be $12, and stadium gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Both schools’ clear-bag policy for athletic events will be in effect as well. Both schools will provide fans with additional information as the game date draws closer.
CCSD encourages the community to come out and support these student-athletes and coaches who have been working diligently in preparation for the season opener and wishes both teams luck on a great game and a successful 2023 season.
