Small plane makes emergency landing on road in Gainesville, hits several vehicles

HALL COUNTY, GA — A small plane made an emergency landing in Gainesville, hitting vehicles and causing minor injuries. Everyone survived.

The small plane, a Hawker Beechcraft BE-36, had taken off from Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport before it started losing altitude.

The pilot called a mayday to air traffic controllers stating, “We’re not going to make it. Please tell my wife Molly I love her and my parents.”

The pilot was able to land the plane on Browns Bridge Road in front of the Golden Corral.

Two people were taken to the hospital with what were described as minor injuries.

The plane hit three vehicles during the emergency landing.
