NE Ga traffic notes

There are traffic issues for drivers in northeast Georgia, including a heads-up for drivers in Franklin County, where paving crews are working on Highway 17 through Lavonia: starting today and continuing through mid-May are daily lane closures and occasional detours.

A sinkhole has opened on Plainview Road in Franklin County: the Franklin County Sheriff's Office says County road crews are assessing the situation.

The University of Georgia says the southbound lane of East Campus Road closes today, along with a stretch of sidewalk on East Campus: the closures come as crews pour concrete for a new driveway at the University’s Museum of Natural History.

Sunday’s blustery winds toppled at least one tree on Athens’ east side: the downed tree blocked, for a time a stretch of Morton Road off Lexington Road. The road is open for traffic this morning.
