UGA dorms without water, heat today

Classes ended with Thanksgiving break

UGA’s Brumby, Creswell, Mell, and Russell halls are without heat and hot water today, as crews do maintenance work on the residence halls that are largely empty of students since last week’s end of fall semester classes.

The University says UGA Housing is working to replace a leaking steam valve, with the water and heat shut-off scheduled for 8 this morning and expected to last through 3 o’clock this afternoon.

The news comes as Athens’ low temperatures bottom out in the mid twenties.
