Vandals sought in Athens, child molester sentenced in Gainesville

Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating reports of vandalism at a home on Athens' west side: Police say somebody used a BB gun to shoot up a home off Highway 78 near Bogart.

A Gainesville man gets a 10-year prison sentence, his punishment for his conviction on child molestation charges: a Hall County grand jury handed up a five-count indictment in the case of 31 year-old Napoleon Lopez.

A Gwinnett County driver is on the hook for almost $100,000. Matthew Whisenhunt is from Suwannee. He has used the toll express lanes on I-85 in Gwinnett without paying nearly one thousand times. And then he made matters worse by not showing up for a hearing before a Gwinnett County judge.

We have this morning the name of the Forsyth County man killed in this week’s crash on experimental aircraft in Polk County: John Eaves was 53 years old, from Cumming. His gyrocopter went down in a cotton field near Cedartown. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
