A crash has closed all lanes of a busy Highway in Barrow County: the wreck, happening before daybreak, has shut down traffic on Georgia Highway 316 at Highway 11 near Bethlehem. There was no immediate word on whether there were injuries in the accident. Crews were working around 5:30 this morning to clear the scene and reopen the road that links Athens with metro Atlanta.
UPDATE 6:28am: there are reports of at least one fatality. One westbound lane of 316 was reopened to traffic, but is again closed with wreckers now on the scene.
UPDATE 6:45am: all lanes are now open to traffic.
