The Ron Washington effect

The 2019 Atlanta Braves are the first team in Braves franchise history to commit fewer than 80 errors (78), in a single season.

In 2018, the Braves set the franchise record with 80 total errors on the season. This is the first time the Braves have ever had back-to-back seasons with fewer than 85 errors.

Prior to Washington joining the Braves coaching staff before the 2017 season, the record for the fewest errors in Braves franchise history was 81, set in 1994.

Since Washington joined the Braves staff, the Braves have never committed 100 or more errors in a season. In the 141 seasons in Braves franchise history, prior to Washington joining the staff, the Braves only reached this mark 10 times.
