3 people dead, home evacuated after plane crash in Hall County

Hall County investigators say three people are dead and a home had to be evacuated after a plane crash Friday night.

It happened shortly after 6 p.m. along Memorial Park Drive and Atlanta Highway near Gainesville.

We’ll have the latest on this developing story, on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. on Channel 2.

Gainesville firefighters were first to the scene and found three people dead in a single-engine plane.

Investigators said the plane crashed into a ravine in the area.

The FAA said the flight took off from an airport in Gainesville and was enroute to Daytona Beach, Florida.

A nearby home was also evacuated because of fuel that fell in the area. The American Red Cross is currently helping four adults and a child with temporary housing.
