The Georgia DOT is spelling out plans for bridge replacement in Oconee County: the bridge over Barber Creek on Clotfelter Road would get a makeover, with a six-month detour along Malcom Bridge Road, Hodges Mill Road, and State Route 53.
From the Oconee Co government website…
The Georgia Department of Transportation has posted information at http://www.dot.ga.gov/AboutGDOT/PublicOutreach related to the proposed County Road (CR) 592/Clotfelter Road bridge replacement.
This project proposes to replace the structurally deficient bridge over Barber Creek along CR 592/Clotfelter Road (3.0 miles south of Bogart, Georgia). As part of project construction, a temporary detour would be required along Malcolm Bridge Road, Hodges Mill Road, and State Route (SR) 53. This detour would result in a net increase in route length of 2.3 miles. The temporary detour would be in place for approximately six months.
The purpose of this internet posting is to replace an in-person meeting, while allowing the public to review the proposed project, provide feedback, or write in with questions.
