Hice backs Barr in 10th District race

Jody Hice, the 10th District Republican who represents most of Athens in the US House, has made an endorsement in the crowded field of candidates who are running to replace him in Congress: Hice is backing Gwinnett County state Rep Timothy Barr, who is one of a dozen Republicans who have announced for the seat that will open when Hice leaves the House to run for Secretary of State.

In a statement released today, Congressman Jody Hice, joined by his wife Dee Dee, voiced their support for Timothy Barr and urged voters to elect him in Georgia’s 10th District.

“It’s been the honor of a lifetime to fight for our values in Washington, but the fight is far from over. The Biden Administration is out of control and now more than ever we need patriots who will stand up for our country. This is why Dee Dee and I are proud to endorse Timothy Barr in Georgia’s 10th District. Timothy is a proven fighter who will put America first and be an active member of the Freedom Caucus. We did not take this decision lightly and at the end of the day, it was made as a family with careful consideration and much prayer. The candidate elected will be our Congressman, as well as our children’s and grandchildren’s. We know you can trust Timothy to represent your family because we trust him to represent ours.”

Timothy Barr spoke on what it means to have the full support of Jody Hice, who has served as the 10th District Congressman since 2015 and is a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.
