ACCPD identifies Jackson Co teen killed in Athens crash

We have this morning the name of the Jackson County teenager killed in a motorcycle accident that happened last weekend in Athens. Athens-Clarke County Police say Christian Williams was 19 years old, from Nicholson. He wrecked his motorcycle on Atlanta Highway in Athens. An Athens-Clarke County Police investigation is ongoing.

Williams is the fifth person to die in an Athens traffic crash so far this year.

On April 30, 2022, at approximately 1:45PM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Atlanta Highway for a crash involving a motorcycle and a SUV. Initial investigation indicates that a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Atlanta Highway, collided with a 2014 Honda CRV that was attempting to turn left into Sam’s Club from westbound Atlanta Highway. The driver of the motorcycle, Christian Williams, 19, of Nicholson, GA, was transported to a local hospital by EMS where he died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The crash investigation is ongoing.
