Athens-Clarke County Police continue their investigation into a deadly weekend motorcycle crash on North Avenue: police say a 22 year-old man from Monticello was driving the truck that struck the motorcycle; 29 year-old Kody Kuckuck of Winder was killed in the wreck that happened on North Avenue at Northside Drive.

On July 22, 2023, at approximately 8:46 PM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a vehicle crash on North Ave at Northside Dr involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. Initial investigation indicates that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, driven by Richard Clark, 22, of Monticello, GA, was turning left onto North Ave from Northside Dr. The pickup truck then collided with a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle which was traveling south on North Ave.
The driver of the motorcycle, Kody Kuckuck, 29 of Athens GA, died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
