ACCPD says charges are possible after rowdy block party

Athens-Clarke County Police continue to consider charges in the case of a birthday party that got out of hand earlier this week.

From the Ga News Network…

The Athens-Clarke County police force was relocating resources thanks to a huge block party.

Police in Athens were strapped for officers as they contended with a 2000 person block party in the Piggly Wiggly lot on North Avenue on Sunday evening. Police dealt with marijuana, open alcohol consumption, and multiple fights.

The party was allegedly an unofficial birthday celebration for a 44 year old woman who had promoted her party to her 18,000 Facebook followers.

Police are looking into possibly citing the property owner for having an unpermitted event.
