Area briefs include A-CC Commission sessions, Elections Board meeting

A closed-door executive session to discuss a personnel matter is on the agenda for this afternoon’s special called meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Commission: the 4:30 meeting comes in advance of a Commission work session set for 5:30 at Athens City Hall. Storm drainage in Winterville is among the items on the agenda.

There will be an afternoon meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections, a 4:30 session at the Government Building on Dougherty Street.

The University of Georgia says Drop-Add for the spring semester classes that began Monday continues today at UGA.

On this first week of spring semester classes at the University of Georgia are free fitness classes at UGA’s Ramsey Center. The University says more than five dozen classes are available, free of charge for this week only.

The Georgia Supreme Court hears arguments in the 2020 drug conviction of a woman from Jackson County: the Court convenes today to take up the case of Tracie Underwood. The 46 year-old woman from Nicholson was arrested in 2016 and convicted four years later.
