Dr. Stephanie Westhafer, a first-grade teacher at West Jackson Elementary School, is named Jackson County’s Teacher of the Year.
A 17 year-old student at Hart County High School faces charges after he was caught with a gun on campus: school officials in Hartwell say the weapon was found last week. They say the student is charged with weapon possession and reckless conduct.
