Governor Brian Kemp is reiterating his endorsement of a sitting Supreme Court Justice over a former Athens-Clarke County Commissioner and Congressman. The Governor is backing Justice Andrew Pinson, who is challenged by John Barrow in the election that will be decided tomorrow.

The Oconee County School year ended with high school graduation exercises held over the weekend at Oconee and North Oconee high schools. Oconee County teachers are in classrooms for two days of post planning, today and again tomorrow.

School officials in Banks County say social media threats directed at a school in Homer were, after an investigation, deemed to be unfounded.
Joshua Dornellas is being held without bond in the Franklin County jail. The 31 year-old South Carolina man is charged with kidnaping his 3 year-old non-custodial son, who suffered burns after Dornellas allegedly tossed gasoline on the little boy and set him on fire during a police chase on I-85 through Hart and Franklin counties. The boy is hospitalized, at last report in critical condition, in the burn unit of a hospital in Augusta.
