Area briefs: open seats on A-CC Cultural Affairs Commission, poll workers wanted in Gainesville

There is a morning meeting of the Oconee County Industrial Development Authority, a 9:30 session at the Oconee County Administrative Building.

This evening’s meeting of the Madison County Commissions is set for 6 o’clock at the County Government Complex in Danielsville.

A man from Stephens County is facing DUI charges after allegedly causing a crash that involved two Stephens County Sheriff’s cars. 42 year-old Romunzo Brown faces other charges in the wreck, in which there were no injuries. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating last week’s school bus accident in Hart County, where a bus ran into a tree. Children on the bus were coming home from North Hart Elementary School. Three of them were treated for what were described as minor injuries.

There is a call for help in Gainesville, where Hall County Elections Officials say they need about 600 poll workers for upcoming elections. Early voting begins April 21 for May 21 primaries that will be held in Hall County.
