Athens couple arrested in Jackson Co

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says two suspects have been arrested on theft charges: Darren Wright is 32 year old; Katelyn Wright is 22. Both are from Athens. They’re accused of stealing $20,000 in cash and using the stolen money to buy two automobiles.

South Jackson couple arrested for stealing from elderly man
On February 11, 2020, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested Darren Jacob Wright (32) and Katelyn Deanna Wright (22) of Athens, GA. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a theft of over $20,000 from an elderly man. The investigation led to the recovery of a majority of the cash stolen and two vehicles that had been purchased with the stolen cash. Darren Jacob Wright and Katelyn Deanna Wright are currently in the Jackson County Jail and have been charged with Felony Theft by Taking.
