Athens Republicans vote no on House debt ceiling deal

Andrew Clyde, a US Congressman from Athens, and Mike Collins, the Republican who represents Athens in the House, were no votes on the debt ceiling deal that was approved in a House vote last night. The measure heads now to the US Senate.

On Wednesday night, the House of Representatives passed the debt ceiling bill, avoiding what would have been the first U.S. default.

The bill will now go to the Senate for passage, which is expected by the end of the week, the AP reported, and then it will go to the president for his signature.
