Athens Technical College and its division of Economic Development Services are hosting programs for workers looking for industry credentials.

Athens Technical College’s division of Economic Development Services is hosting multiple job-ready programs for individuals seeking industry credentials in Washington, Georgia.
Companies with employees needing recertification are also welcome to register.
Course options, dates, times and fees are as follows:
- Forklift Operator Safety – May 19, 2023, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; $199 registration fee
- OSHA 10 General Industry Safety – May 24-25, 2023; $199 registration fee
- ServSafe Manager Course Review and Test – June 8, 2023, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; cost varies
- Basic Computer Skills – June 15, 2023, 8 a.m. – noon; $89 registration fee
All trainings will be held at the Washington-Wilkes Career Center at 20 Lexington Avenue.
“These are some of our most requested certifications from individuals and industry professionals,” said Al McCall, Vice President for Economic Development. “We look forward to helping industries in the area ensure their employees are skilled. These are also great entry-level credentials for individuals searching for a new career.”
Additionally, the office will offer driver’s education course from August 21 to September 8 at the Center in the afternoons beginning at 4:30 p.m. The cost of the course, which meets the Joshua’s Law requirements, is $400 and some scholarships may be available.
