The annual Athens Water Festival is set for Saturday, underway at 10 and lasting til 2 at Sandy Creek Park. It’s organized by the Athens-Clarke County Water Conservation Office.

From the Athens-Clarke Co government website…

One of the best family-friendly events in Athens is right around the corner! Join us for the annual Athens Water Festival on Saturday, September 9, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Sandy Creek Park. Park entry is $2.00 per person; the event activities are free. This year’s theme is Elemental - a new Disney and Pixar movie about fire, water, air, and earth! Get fired up as we make a splash learning about these elements in our lives. Bring a bathing suit to run through the spray of the water trucks and swim in Lake Chapman. Be wowed by a magic show, play with bubbles, and make a work of art with the art truck. We have over twenty interactive games, displays, and activities waiting for you, check out the list of presenting organizations below!
