CUMMING, GA — Authorities have identified the person whose body was recovered from a vehicle found submerged in Lake Lanier.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said the person inside the car was 85-year-old Phillip Malone, who had been reported missing out of Roswell.
The vehicle was discovered in the water at Tidwell Park after being located by a boater.
Hall County dive teams responded to the scene. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
It is not clear how long the car was in the water. Foul play is not suspected.
