Georgia redshirt freshman Ethan Quinn and former Bulldog All-American Jan Zielinski will compete in the US Open doubles main draw this week in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Their first round matches are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. ET Thursday.

Zielinski, ranked No. 42 in doubles, is teamed with Hugo Nys. The Warsaw, Poland native and three-time All-SEC performer at Georgia from 2015-19, has put together an impressive professional career. He is coming off the doubles finals in Winston-Salem, where he helped knock off one of the top doubles duos in the world in Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic.

Quinn will play alongside doubles partner Nicholas Godsick. Quinn and Godsick earned a spot into the US Open after claiming the title at the United States Tennis Association Boys’ 18 National Championship in doubles on August 15.

Quinn and Godsick are set to face off against Hach Verdugo, a native of Mexico who is ranked No. 86 in the Association of Tennis Professionals doubles rankings, and Basilashvili, a Georgian native with a ranking of No. 798 ATP in doubles.

The top-ranked recruit in 2022, Quinn showcased his talent this past summer, finishing as a finalist in singles at the USTA Boys’ 18 National Championship just a day after his doubles title.

Quinn received a wildcard into singles US Open qualifying tournament thanks to finishing as the runner-up in singles in Kalamazoo, Michigan, just after notching a spot in the main draw in doubles. Quinn won his opening-round qualifying match against Ernesto Escobedo, who has an ATP ranking out of 169, in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 outcome, topping his previous highest-ranked win.

The Fresno, California native defeated four players that finished the college tennis season ranked within the top-10 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this summer. Quinn’s previous best win was against Julian Lez in the quarterfinals of the Bakersfield 25K, who was ranked No. 289 in the ATP rankings.

The US Open will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks, with coverage beginning at 11 a.m. ET every day on ESPN+.
