On a day with temperatures that topped out in the mid-90s, parts of the University of Georgia were hit with air conditioning outages, some of which will affect parts of the UGA campus again today, with again forecast highs well above 90 degrees.

Some University of Georgia students, now almost a week into a new fall semester, are experiencing log-in issues with UGA’s computer network.

Monday was the first day of a new fall semester at the University of North Georgia, and with a new president for UNG: former Georgia Tech administrator Mike Shannon replaces former president Bonita Jacobs, who retired earlier this year. Shannon will visit North Georgia’s Oconee County campus tomorrow.

The University of North Georgia gets a $200 thousand grant from Google. UNG says it will use the funding to help with an economic development partnership with Lumpkin County.

Jackson County Schools have added almost 750 students for the new school year that began earlier this month: officials in the Jackson County School System say they kicked off the new year with 10,587 students.
