Candidate kicks off campaign for DA

A candidate for District Attorney kicks off his campaign today in Athens: the Kalki Yalamanchili campaign launch is set for 5:30 this afternoon. He’ll run for the office held by Deborah Gonzalez, who serves as DA for the Western Circuit that covers Clarke and Oconee counties.

Kalki Yalamanchili is attorney in Athens and an adjunct professor at the University of Georgia.

Kalki Yalamanchili is the owner and lead attorney at the firm Y’Chili Law in located in Athens. The firm specializes in criminal defense, family law and civil litigation.

Yalamanchili’s previous experience includes serving as an assistant district attorney for Georgia’s Western Judicial Circuit for six years and handling criminal cases at all stages of the legal process including in Superior, Juvenile and Magistrate courts in Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties. He was also an assistant solicitor general for the Cobb Judicial Circuit in 2012 and handled all aspects of prosecution in the Cobb County State Court.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from UGA in 2007 and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2001.
