Russell Toms says he’s a candidate for a seat on the Oconee County School Board: Toms will run for the Post 4 seat being vacated by the retiring Tim Burgess. Toms and other candidates running in primary elections in Georgia will qualify this week.

From Russell Toms…

Hello! My name is Russell Toms and I was wanting to share with you my announcement to run for OCS BOE. My wife Ashely and I live in Oconee County with our two children Dylan and Harper.

We absolutely love our school system. It’s the entire reason we moved to Oconee. I’ve felt a strong calling to serve our community. BOE is how I hope meet that calling. I’ve provided a copy of my announcement for you below and I would love the opportunity to discuss it with you.

“I am excited to announce my intention to run for Oconee County Board of Education post 4. There is nothing more important than the education of our children and young adults, and I am proud to live in the best education system in the State of Georgia.

I cannot thank our educators, administrators, coaches and support staff enough, for the wonderful experience my two children have in Oconee County. As a parent I have a tremendous drive to help ensure that other families have the same experience that my wife and I have had. It is my belief that my parenting and professional experience will make me the ideal candidate to help foster the schools that the Toms family holds so dear.”
