CCSD invites all communities of interest to review the district’s 2023-24 Code of Student Conduct (Spanish version begins on page 38) and provide feedback through this form (available in English and Spanish). The feedback received will be evaluated in the development of a draft code for 2024-25 that will go to the Clarke County Board of Education for approval on Feb. 8. The feedback form will close on Friday, Jan. 19.
Georgia law requires school districts to have policies “designed to improve the student learning environment by improving student behavior and discipline.” These policies include a code of conduct that contains standards for student behavior and disciplinary consequences. Rather than merely being a list of “dos and don’ts” for our students, CCSD’s Code of Student Conduct also highlights the district’s determination to:
- help our students meet behavioral standards through student support services
- use consistent, progressive disciplinary policies and practices
- engage parents in support of their student’s behavior and academic performance.
