With the new school year that started back on Monday, a meeting of the Clarke County School Board is on tap for tonight: it’s set for 6 o’clock at the HT Edwards Building on Dearing Extension in Athens. The Board is expected to name a new member to fill the unexpired term of Jared Bybee, the District 4 representative on the School Board who left Athens for California earlier this year. The only remaining applicant for the job is Patricia Yager. Yager (pictured above) is a professor at the University of Georgia.
There is an afternoon meeting of the Athens Downtown Development Authority: it's a 2 o'clock session at Authority offices in the Gameday building on Broad Street.
There is more reservoir talk today in Monroe: the Hard Labor Creek Reservoir Management Board meets in a special called session set for 1 o'clock this afternoon at the Walton County Historic Courthouse. The Hard Labor Creek Reservoir is a joint effort between Walton and Oconee counties.
