The Clarke County Courthouse areas that remained closed Tuesday—Municipal Court and parts of the first floor—are reopening today, marking the end of a week-long effort to rid the building on East Washington Street of bedbugs that were found on Tuesday of last week.

Most of the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse has now reopened after it was shut down due to an infestation of bed bugs.
Officials decided to shut it down last Tuesday after the pests were found in several areas of the courthouse.
They said evidence of the bugs was found on the first three floors.
