Clarke Co School District hosts weekend jobs fair

There is a jobs fair on tap for tomorrow in Athens: the Clarke County School District’s Educator Career Fair starts at 10 and lasts til 1 at School District offices on Prince Avenue in Athens.

From the Clarke Co School District website…

1. Do I need to register for the Career Fair?

We are asking everyone who is interested in participating to register for the event, so that we can prepare and communicate with you about the event. Register today to secure your spot.

2. Where will the Career Fair be held?

The career fair will be held at the CCSD Administrative Office located at 595 Prince Ave. Athens, GA 30622.

3. Where do I park?

There is parking onsite as well as on the street near our building.

4. Do I need to attend the entire time?

No, you do not need to attend the entire time. You can stay for the duration of the event visiting various schools or you can stop by and visit with a few. We do encourage you to arrive between 10:00 - 11:00am so that you have a chance to speak with the schools and potentially interview with them. If you arrive just before it ends you may not be able to speak with everyone or they may have filled their positions.

5. What should I bring?

Bring copies of your resume to share with the school teams. CCSD will have bottles of water should you need a drink, but feel free to bring your own as well.

6. What should I wear?

Professional dress or business casual attire is encouraged, but be yourself!

7. Do I need to be a Certified Teacher to attend?

No! Since CCSD is a charter school district we can waive the certification requirements for many positions if we feel you have the skills and competencies to be an effective educator. While we value teacher certifications, we understand that there are times individuals are transitioning to a new city or job that do not yet have their Georgia teacher certification.

8. What should I expect?

Once you arrive at the Administrative Office, follow the signage to check-in with one of our district representatives to receive a name tag. Once checked in you will be directed into a location where each school has a table and representatives ready to meet you, share a bit about their school, and learn more about you.

When you visit a school table we encourage you to share your resume with them so they can discuss your background, skill set, and how that may align with their needs. We encourage you to visit each school you are interested in, so allow yourself time during the event to do so. In some instances you may be asked to interview by a school.
