Delay in trial of man accused of shooting, wounding Lavonia police officers

The trial of the man accused of shooting and wounding two Lavonia police officers last December was to have started next month; it has instead been rescheduled for February of next year. Anthony Gordon is from Greenville South Carolina. He’s charged in the shootings that wounded Lavonia Police Officers Jeffrey Martin and Michael Schulman. The shootings came after a traffic stop on I-85 in Franklin County; suspect Gordon was driving what turned out to have been a stolen car.

Darvis Bledson gets a 25-year prison sentence after pleading guilty in Gainesville: the 34 year-old Bledson pleaded to an involuntary manslaughter charge stemming from the death of Terry Maddox, a 30 year-old Gainesville man who was shot and killed in September of last year.
