A South Carolina man gets a 15-prison sentence and a $300,000 fine, his punishment for his methamphetamine trafficking conviction in Jackson County: Randy Hodge is 41 years old, from Gaffney South Carolina. The sentence was handed down in Jackson County Superior Court. Hodge was arrested after a January traffic accident on I-85 in Braselton. Police say the drugs were found in his car.
A Franklin County couple faces drug charges: drug agents say more than $23,000 worth of methamphetamine was confiscated in the arrests of husband and wife William and Angela Fain. He’s 53 years old, she’s 46. They were arrested in Royston and are being held in the Franklin County Detention Center.
Police in Winder have posted a reward of up to $2,000, searching for two suspects in a scam operation: police say they convinced their victim to pull what is described as a “large sum of cash” out of his bank account, money for what turns out to have been a non-existent charity. Investigator say they do not believe the con artists are from the Winder area.
A man tells Athens-Clarke County Police someone copied a number off his debit card and used the data to make purchases at the Wal Mart Lexington Road. Police are investigating.
