Elbert Co Commission takes up solar farm regulations

Elbert County Commissioners, who will hold later this month a public hearing on a controversial proposal for a solar panel farm, have approved a measure that would require buffers and increase the setbacks for solar farms.

The setback requirement increases from 50 to 250 feet from property lines in Elbert County.

The Commission vote, which was unanimous, does not speak directly to a Florida developer who is looking to put solar panels on two thousand acres south of Elberton.
