The city of Elberton has a new police chief: Police Detective Scott Marunich is a 20-year veteran of the police department in Elberton.
Marunich, who has also worked for the Sheriff’s Office in Elbert County, takes over for Mark Welsh, who is retiring after 22 years as the top cop in Elberton, putting the wraps on a 48-year career in law enforcement.
