Federation forum to focus on plan for Ga Square Mall redevelopment

Talk about plans to redevelop the Georgia Square Mall property on Atlanta Highway is on the agenda for tonight’s meeting of the Athens Federation of Neighborhoods, a 7 o’clock session at Cine on West Hancock. Athens-Clarke County Commissioners, voting last month, signed off a $650 million dollar plan to reconfigure the Mall property with a mix of retail, residential, restaurant, and office space.

Confirmed panelists include three Mall Redevelopment Committee (MARC) members: Linda Davis (School Board Member), Jesse Houle (ACC Commissioner), and Dr. Mumbi Anderson (School Board Member) as well as Scott Haines (W&A Engineering).
