The national non-profit Petco Love gives a $20 thousand grant to the Hall County Animal Shelter. Operators of the facility in Buford say the money will help prevent the spread of disease and help the county purchase vaccines for the animals in the shelter.

Hall County’s Animal Shelter is getting a $20,000 grant investment from Petco Love, a national nonprofit.
A press release from Hall County states that Petco Love is giving the shelter this grant in support of its “lifesaving work” for animals in Hall County.
Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love, said its investment in Hall County’s animal shelter is part of millions of dollars in other investments announced by the organization.
“Our investment in Hall County’s Animal Shelter is part of more than $15 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Kogut.
Hall County Animal Shelter Program Coordinator Stephanie Loden said the investment will help prevent the spread of disease and help the county purchase different vaccines for its animals.
“The Petco Love investment will help prevent the spread of diseases within the shelter and provide testing for various diseases such as Parvo Virus, FELV (Feline Leukemia Virus) /FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and Heartworm disease to ensure the welfare of the animals. These funds from Petco Love also help Hall County to purchase rabies vaccines, canine DAPPV vaccines, feline HCPCH vaccines, canine INTRA TRAC3 vaccines and puppy DPV vaccines,” said Loden.
The grant will be given during a special celebration at the Petco at 3264 Buford Drive, Suite 110, in Buford at 11 a.m. on July 7.
