Infant, 2-year-old among 4 family members severely burned in Polk County house fire

POLK COUNTY, Ga. — A Polk County house fire sent four people, including two young children, to the hospital Monday morning.

The fire started in the attic of a home off Oak Grove Road in Aragon around 1:30 a.m. Officials believe an electrical issue started the fire.

Polk County fire officials said a 56-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man and baby were flown to Grady Memorial Hospital’s burn unit with severe injuries.

A 2-year-old girl was taken to a different hospital due to her burns.

“Polk County Fire Department sends their thoughts to the victims and families impacted by this devastating event,” the department said.

Fire officials said the victims’ condition are unknown at this time.

Polk County fire said this is the 25th house fire they have responded to this year alone.
