Several items stolen from former UGA linebacker Roquan Smith’s car were recovered late Tuesday night, including his prized Rose Bowl and National Championship jerseys.
Summerville Police (Chattooga County) recovered the items from a teenager who is attending the University of Georgia. A fingerprint recovered from Smith’s car in which the items were stolen lead police to the teenager. The suspect allegedly confessed to Summerville Police that he had taken the items in Athens and brought them to his father’s residence in Summerville.
The Athens-Clarke County Police were notified of the recovery, and arrived late Tuesday night to take possession of the items.
Other items stolen from the car included electronics and an iPad issued to Smith by the Chicago Bears, the team that drafted him in the first round of last month’s NFL Draft. Those items were not recovered with the jerseys.
The name of the teenager has not yet been released.
